Lord, thank you for being a God of order and of love. Help my husband to be the leader that you designed him to be. One that leads in equality, not in supremacy, and one that leads out of love and desire for those who follow him to have the best. Help him to understand the responsibility that comes with his role and may his decisions he makes be well thought out and run through your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Husbands being leaders and wives being submissive…boy has society taken those out of context. The design of this is for order and to avoid chaos. As husbands and wives we are called to surrender to one another. Even Jesus Himself surrendered to the Father’s will, so let’s be sure we’re not misunderstanding what this means. A good leader is one who looks out for those he is responsible for. He protects them, he shields them and he makes good decisions with their best interest at heart. A good leading husband also completely respects and values his wife and is consistent in asking for her input. He sees her value and wants nothing but the best for her.
