Today’s episode is the final one in the Ready, Set, Grow series. We’re talking off the cuff about our own 27-year journey of growing old together. We hope you join us today as we share the flaws we each had to overcome, and what it took for us to get to a place where growing old together led us to deeper love and connection.

Growing old together is one of the things as a couple you should anticipate, but it requires having an intentional mindset to actually do it well. When you stand firm in your covenant and choose to honor it by facing hard times, going through all the ups and downs together, that’s when you can anticipate growing old together to produce a deeper, more connected love than ever before.
A gift of marriage is to be able to lean on one another, to help one another overcome hard things, to support and encourage one another in becoming the person God wants you each to be. When you spend a lifetime together doing those exact things, you will find that as the years roll by, your love truly does get deeper and your marriage just feels comfortable and secure.
Growing old together is a journey that sparks some hesitancy and perhaps a little fear, but also one that should spark excitement about spending your entire life with the one you love the most.
This is why we hope you always remember to Enjoy the Journey!
Quotes from the episode:
“God loves you just the way you are, but too much to leave you there.”
I love your podcast. We will be celebrating 19 years of marriage this year. So, I was listening to this particular podcast on my walk this morning. As I was finishing the walk I saw my cute neighbors sitting outside enjoying their garden. They are in their 80’s. I wish I could share the picture as they are so cute. 🙂
Thanks so much for listening and we’re so glad you love it! There’s nothing better than seeing sweet elderly couples together! That’s going to be us sooner than we think! ❤️
Is their any help on how to deal with arguments while in the process of our marriage becoming a biblical portrait? We are currently undergoing a counselling on biblical marriage, but the enemy is very active in trying to trip is….
That is so great that you are currently in marriage counseling and working to make your marriage be a witness to God’s love and compassion.
Yes. We have podcast episodes to work with just that. Episodes 18-21 are a 4 part series on How to L.O.V.E.Your Way Through Conflict. Our Newlywed Couples Devotional also helps equip couples to lovingly handle conflict in a way that grows your relationship rather than tear it apart.
